Southland Casino Racing Raised $47,051 for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Eastern Arkansas
|
West Memphis, AR – October 2021 / Newsmaker Alert / On Wednesday, September 29, 2021, Southland Casino Racing presented a check for $47,051 to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Eastern Arkansas (CACEA), a non-profit organization that provides a place for children to be interviewed and receive supportive services after a report of child abuse has been made. The CACEA works with law enforcement and social services to talk with children in their safe and child friendly location. They provide advocacy services, forensic interviews, medical examinations and therapy services. All services provided by the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Eastern Arkansas are provided at no cost to child victims of abuse or their families.

The campaign is part of parent company Delaware North’s “Game Changer” initiative across its gaming properties in the United States, with the goal of making a positive change in those local communities.

For guests of the gaming venue, it’s as easy as dropping off and gifting the change that’s left on a slot voucher or racing ticket at wishing wells, located throughout the casino floor.

“We have a deep appreciation for the work that the CACEA does to help children our community,” said David Wolf, general manager and president of Southland Casino Racing. “And to take it a step further – it’s wonderful to know that we are a part of something even larger, as patrons of other gaming venues within our company’s U.S. portfolio are helping those in need within their respective communities.” Lori Wilson, executive director of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Eastern Arkansas said, “This donation will allow our center to expand programs and services to abused children in our community.”

All proceeds of Delaware North’s Game Changer campaign are provided to local organizations focused on creating positive community impact within each participating location. To date the Game Changer program at Southland has raised over $142,000 for the local community. The initial Game Changer campaign from September through November, 2020, raised $41,000 for Hope House Ministries.
