Alexandria, VA – July 2022 / Newsmaker Alert: Yesway, TXB and Rutter’s are among many who are joining fellow convenience retailers and suppliers across the United States to celebrate hometown heroes on 24/7 Day on July 24.

Yesway is supporting this year’s 24/7 Day at its Yesway and Allsup’s store locations by offering a free any size dispensed beverage and a Core 30.4 oz. water for $1.00 to police, fire, EMTs, doctors, nurses, health practitioners, Red Cross volunteers and 9-1-1 professionals in uniform or with a badge on Sunday, July 24, 2022.

Convenience Retailing Industry to Unite for 24/7 Day
|
“We are proud to join with the NACS Foundation and our c-store industry colleagues to celebrate 24/7 Day,” said Tom Trkla, chairman and chief executive officer of Yesway. Every community has its share of these true difference makers, and we want to acknowledge and support them and the terrific work they are doing.”

People are impacted by emergencies every day. On average, more than 30,000 people a day receive assistance from the Red Cross, whether they need lifesaving blood, relief after a disaster, support with the challenges of military life, training in skills that save lives or international humanitarian aid.

Texas Born (TXB) is honoring first responders, medical personnel and American Red Cross Volunteers on 24/7 Day. TXB will offer a free bag of TXB jerky and a free TXB 1-liter premium electrolyte water to doctors, nurses, EMTs, police officers, sheriffs, highway patrol, fire, border patrol, 911 dispatchers and American Red Cross volunteers in uniform or with a badge on July 24.

“Especially over this past year, first responders, medical personnel and volunteers go above and beyond to keep our communities safe and healthy, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their service,” said TXB CEO Kevin Smartt. “We are honored to continue our part in 24/7 Day, and this year’s offerings to these incredible individuals is the least we can do to say thank you.”

Meanwhile, York, Pennsylvania-based Rutter’s is hosting its “Feeding the Frontline” event, which shows appreciation for frontline workers. Because they’re on duty 24/7, the event will be held on July 24 (7/24) and July 25. Frontline workers will receive a free meal at Rutter’s as a thank you for their hard work and dedication.

This is the third year in a row that Rutter’s is hosting the event, which is in conjunction the NACS Foundation 24/7 Day.

With support from PepsiCo, Hormel, Hershey’s, and Martin’s Snacks, the free meal will consist of a grab-and-go sandwich or wrap, a bag of Martin’s chips, a regular-sized fountain drink and a standard-size Reese’s or Hershey’s candy bar. This offer will be available at all Rutter’s locations for first responders in uniform and Rutter’s team members as well as American Red Cross volunteers, Class A CDL drivers, medical workers and active-duty military members with ID.

“Convenience stores are the first supporters to first responders, serving as the only locations that remain open in a crisis to ensure fuel, food and other necessities are available for emergency workers and customers as they return to normalcy,” said Stephanie Sikorski, executive director of the NACS Foundation. “That’s why the NACS Foundation honors first responders and is committed to amplifying our industry’s reach and impact of its charitable efforts in the communities they serve, 24/7.”
