native of Alexandria, Va., Forgash began his professional career at Mount
Vernon Country Club in Alexandria, where he worked for almost a decade,
beginning as a high school bag/cart attendant before completing his PGA
apprenticeship. He spent 11 years with Marriott Golf and served as
a head professional and director of golf at clubs in Arizona, Georgia and
Hawaii. In 2010, he returned to Northern Virginia. Following a brief stint
at National Golf Club in Maryland, Forgash began working at The Golf Club
at Lansdowne, a Troon-managed facility in Leesburg, Va. Forgash served
as the director of golf at Lansdowne for seven years, helping to grow the
membership, programming and rolling out the resort-wide staff hospitality
program.
Forgash has been a member of the PGA of America since 1997. Craig and his wife Michelle are both graduates of Virginia Tech, where their oldest child currently attends as a freshman. Troon Golf, the resort and daily-fee club operations division of Troon®, began managing the golf, restaurant and club operations at Lake Presidential Golf Club in February 2019. Lake Presidential Golf Club opened in 2008 and is one of Maryland’s most popular courses, having been named No. 2 on Golfweek’s “Best Courses You Can Play in Maryland” list in 2016.
