Syracuse,
NY – May 2015 / Newsmaker Alert / Rising country stars Dan +
Shay will perform songs from their record-setting debut album at 2 p.m.
on Chevy Court
at the Great New York State Fair
on Saturday, August 29, Acting Fair Director Troy Waffner has announced.
Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney
met one December day in Nashville and began writing together the next day.
Within a year, their first single, “19 You + Me” hit the top 10 of the
country radio singles chart. Not long after, they released the album “Where
It All Began” and began touring with country stars such as Hunter Hayes
and Blake Shelton. Their album hit #1 on the country album chart in its
first week, the only duo in SoundScan history to do so. Dan + Shay were
nominated for Duo of the Year by both the Academy of Country Music and
the Country Music Association.
“Dan + Shay bring fresh sounds
to their music and, as we often do at Chevy Court, we give people a chance
to see artists who are on their way to stardom. This is a show that should
not be missed,” said Waffner.
