Syracuse,
NY – June 2015 / Newsmaker Alert / You can call him the Space
Cowboy, but the Great New York State
Fair is calling Steve Miller the ideal way to spend the evening of
Sunday, September 6 as the legendary blues/rock artist and his band plays
what is likely to be one of the biggest shows of the Chevy
Court season, Acting Fair Director Troy Waffner announced. The show
begins at 8 p.m.
One of rock music’s all-time
greats, the Steve Miller Band has sold more than 45 million records in
a career spanning more than 40 years. His trademark blues-rock sound made
him one of the key artists in classic rock radio and his songs remain radio
staples – “The Joker,” “Rock’n Me,” “Take the Money and Run,” “Fly like
an Eagle,” “Abracadabra,” and many more. Miller released a live version
of “The Joker” album in 2014 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original
number one studio album. Miller continues to record new music, well into
his fifth decade as an in-demand artist who draws huge crowds around the
world.
“The Steve Miller Band is
one of the great classic rock groups and the band’s music is perfect for
a Sunday night party. We’ve worked hard and invested more than ever to
create the strongest Chevy Court lineup in our history, and this show is
right at the top of the list of must-see events,” said Waffner.
The Steve Miller Band last
appeared at the Great New York State Fair on August 26, 1997 on the Grandstand.
