Syracuse,
NY – June 2015 / Newsmaker Alert / Oklahoma country duo The
Swon Brothers will bring the music that made them finalists on TV’s musical
competition “The Voice” to Chevy
Court on Sunday, August 30 at 2.p.m. at the Great New York State Fair,
Acting Fair Director Troy Waffner has announced.
Zach and Colton Swon were
asked by a friend to accompany him to an audition for NBC’s hit competition
“The Voice.” The brothers’ performance of “American Girl” by Tom Petty
and the Heartbreakers caused three of the four celebrity judges to fight
for the right to manage them. Blake Shelton won the battle and helped guide
them to the finale, where they finished in third place. Their self-titled
major label debut album hit the top 10 of the country album charts and
earned the brothers nominations as Vocal Duo of the Year from the Academy
of Country Music and the Country Music Association.
“The Swon Brothers are coming
to the Fair to show the talent that made Blake Shelton, Usher, and Shakira
all want to work with them. These guys mix country and rock with wonderful
vocal harmonies. It’s a show that’s not to be missed,” said Waffner.
