Syracuse,
NY – June 2015 / Newsmaker Alert / The great doo-wop music of
the 1950’s and 60’s comes alive again at the Great
New York State Fair when Jon “Bowzer” Bauman brings Bowzer’s Rock N’
Roll Party to Chevy
Court on Monday, August 31 at 2 p.m., Acting Fair Director Troy Waffner
said announced. Monday and Tuesday are the Fair’s annual Senior Days, featuring
free admission for people age 60 and older.
Bowzer came to fame as a
member of doo-wop group Sha Na Na, whose performance right before Jimi
Hendrix at Woodstock spurred a revival for that style of feel-good, street-corner
harmony. The band’s members kept the music alive with their appearance
in the movie “Grease” and with their self-titled syndicated variety TV
show, with Bowzer playing key roles as the bass voice and comedic relief
of the group. He’s been an actor, game show host and producer ever since
then but always comes back to the music that created Sha Na Na and still
draws large crowds.
“Bowzer’s show is among the
most requested shows we’ve ever had. That’s why he’s making his 16th appearance
at the Great New York State Fair. He’s always put on a first-class show
and I know he’ll bring back some great memories for the Senior Day audience,”
said Waffner.
The Fair has previously announced

that’s garnering attention as perhaps the best and most diverse ever. Shows
