Syracuse, NY – April 2017 / Newsmaker Alert / Fans of the British Invasion get their wish when Herman’s Hermits Starring Peter Noone returns to Chevy Court at the Great New York State Fair at 2 p.m. Monday, August 28, Acting Fair Director Troy Waffner said.

At the age of fifteen, Peter achieved international fame as lead singer of the legendary 1960s pop band Herman’s Hermits. His classic hits included: “I’m Into Something Good,” “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter,” “I’m Henry VIII, I Am,” “Silhouettes,” “Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat,” “Just A Little Bit Better,” “Wonderful World,” “There’s A Kind of Hush,” “A Must To Avoid,” and many others. Ultimately, Herman’s Hermits sold over sixty million recordings.

“We get more requests to bring Peter Noone back than almost any other artist. Herman’s Hermits’ music is timeless and Peter is a terrific performer who always has time for his fans. We are very happy to have him back,” said Waffner.

This will be the 8th appearance at the Great New York State Fair for Peter Noone, a list of performances stretching back nearly three decades.

Concerts at Chevy Court are sponsored by Chevrolet.

About the Great New York State Fair
The New York State Fair, operated by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, runs from August 23 to September 4, 2017. The Fair’s mission, reflected in its theme, “Find Your Great...,” is to showcase the best of New York agriculture while providing top-quality entertainment.

The 375-acre New York State Fairgrounds is undergoing the most significant transformation since it first opened its gates in 1890. The $50 million plan, announced by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, revitalizes the grounds in many ways, improving the quality of the fairgoer’s experience and providing greater economic benefits for the region. Improvements include the dramatic new Main Gate— the arches of which recall the carriage gate that greeted fairgoers in 1900, a larger, 15-acre Wade Shows Midway that will hold more rides than ever, and the brand new 315-site Empire RV Park with underground water, sewer and electrical service. The plan will better position the New York State Fairgrounds as a premier year-round, multi-use facility that can attract more events and visitors from across the nation. A year-round schedule of events is available on the Fair’s website.
