Syracuse,
NY – May 2017 / Newsmaker Alert / Country superstar LeAnn Rimes
will bring her greatest hits and newest songs to the Chevy
Court stage at the Great New York
State Fair for an 8 p.m. performance on Thursday, August 31, Acting
Director Troy Waffner announced Wednesday (May 17).
Rimes exploded onto the
music scene at age 13 with “Blue,” a song that brought the soulfulness
of Patsy Cline to a new generation and earned her a Grammy award the following
year, making her the youngest-ever winner. Later that year, “How Do I Live”
hit number two on the pop charts and is fourth on Billboard magazine’s
list of the top 100 pop singles of all time. Her most recent album, “Remnants,”
was released late last year.
“It’s not often we get the
chance to get a superstar at the peak of her powers on our Chevy Court
stage, so this is absolutely a show that should be circled on every music
fan’s calendar. We’re honored to have her here and I know this is a performance
people will remember for a very long time,” said Waffner.
Rimes’s performance takes
place on the second Three Dollar Thursday, when admission to the Fair is
just $3.
