(ARC) has presented its Travel Agency Representative of the Year award to Robbi Jumaa Hamida, senior vice president of agency operations at Nexion. ARC also recognized members of American Airlines’ Sales and Distribution Strategy departments, naming them Airline Representatives of the Year. The annual awards were presented at ARC’s recent annual TravelConnect customer conference which took place in National Harbor, Md.

With more than 20 years of experience in the travel industry, Hamida’s extensive expertise, collaborative spirit and inclusive leadership have created an enduring impact on the global air travel community. He has been an active and engaged contributor to TravelConnect, ARC’s Debit Memo Working Group and the former Agency Working Group, and he was instrumental in helping ARC build its Memo Analyzer and Agency BI data solutions.

Over the past year, American Airlines has worked together with travel agencies to create a mutually beneficial, win/win NDC incentive program. To encourage NDC adoption, American took a fresh approach that compensates travel agencies for each flight segment booked using an approved NDC connection.

ARC also presented its inaugural President’s Award to recognize an executive who helps the air travel industry connect and thrive. The first recipient was Dave Hilfman, senior vice president of worldwide sales from United Airlines. Hilfman was honored for his work as an industry unifier and for his focus on fostering positive business relationships with industry partners throughout his career.
