by Timothy Schneider, Publisher, Association News
|
Los
Angeles, CA – November 2014 / Newsmaker Alert / This past year, Association
News was pleased to relaunch Meetings
Quest, the nation’s longest-running series of educational and networking
events for association, corporate, government and religious meeting planners.
After completing successful shows in Mesa, Arizona, in May and in Cabarrus
County, North Carolina, in September, it is my pleasure to share with you
some very exciting news about what’s coming up in the future.

On
April 21–22, 2015, Meetings Quest will be held in the heart of downtown
Providence, Rhode Island. Hosted by the Providence Warwick Convention &
Visitors Bureau, Meetings Quest will be held at the Rhode Island Convention
Center, which is managed by SMG and offers 167,000 square feet of event
space. The adjacent Omni Providence Hotel will serve as the headquarters
hotel. Meetings Quest in Providence will provide the opportunity to discover
a historic destination known for its thriving arts community, budding culinary
scene and vibrant entertainment options.
We
are also pleased to announce that Meetings Quest in Providence will feature
an exciting first-time partnership with the International Association of
Exhibitions and Events that will provide Meetings Quest attendees an opportunity
to enroll in or earn credits toward IAEE’s professional certification program,
which leads to the Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM) designation.
The daylong program on April 21 will be administered by IAEE and taught
by CEM commission– approved faculty. The CEM designation was created in
1975 to raise professional standards in the exhibition industry and is
recognized as the premier mark of professional achievement for those who
manage and host trade shows. We are thrilled to be partnering with IAEE
to bring this exclusive learning opportunity to both current and prospective
members of IAEE.
We
will soon be announcing the dates for Meetings Quest in Oakland. A true
gem in Northern California’s Bay Area, the city of Oakland is yet another
emerging destination that will provide an incredible experience for meeting
planners looking to discover a location for gatherings that will surprise
and delight their attendees.
And
finally, we are pleased to announce that the Bloomington Convention &
Visitors Bureau has signed on as a multiyear sponsor of Meetings Quest,
which means our attendees will have the opportunity to experience Minnesota
as they never have before. Located on the banks of the Minnesota River,
Bloomington is well known as the home of the Mall of America (the largest
shopping center in the United States, which welcomes more than 40 million
visitors annually and features 2.5 million square feet of retail space).
For meeting planners, the city’s growing inventory of hotels with meeting
space and the array of activities and venues that Bloomington offers for
groups are sure to be a valuable discovery.

upcoming events in Oakland and Bloomington, please visit MeetingsQuest.com
