Breckenridge,
CO – December 2016 / Newsmaker Alert / Breckenridge
Grand Vacations (BGV) kicked off this year’s season of giving by donating
more than $262,200 in local and regional grants, scholarships and sponsorships
to the Summit and Park County communities; a figure that more than doubles
their 2016 Spring grants and donations earlier this year. In just nine
months, BGV’s new philanthropic program, BGV
Gives is succeeding at elevating the company’s giving efforts under
the leadership of one of Summit County’s most successful fundraisers and
volunteers, Deb Edwards.

BGV
Gives leveraged a variety of BGV’s resources in order to raise such substantial
donations this fall: $194,700 was funded from the BGV Donor Advised Fund
at The Summit Foundation, $10,000 was funded from the Rob
Millisor Heart Health Fund, and $57,500 was funded directly from Breckenridge
Grand Vacations for sponsorships. BGV and BGV Gives were able to generate
these contributions with enormous help from their employees, developers
Mike Millisor and Mike Dudick, volunteers and various local charities.
BGV
Gives was also able to grow biannual funding to help 28 organizations this
November, which significantly supports the surrounding communities in several
need areas. Summit County grants were distributed as follows: $115,000
was awarded to six health and human service groups, $109,700 was donated
to 15 educational establishments, and $22,000 went to five other local
charities. Additionally, two charitable agencies in Park County received
a sum of $15,500. These gifts are being used to fund capital projects,
special event sponsorships, program equipment, scholarships, educational
materials, general operating support and numerous other program needs.
The
CEO of Breckenridge Grand Vacations, Mike Dudick summed up his company’s
philanthropy by saying, “The act of giving enriches and strengthens the
bonds that create the most genuine form of community.”
BGV
also matches employee assistance fund contributions, sponsors charitable
golf tournaments, co-sponsors The Summit Foundation’s Great Rubber Duck
Races, supports the Summit Foundation through medallion donations, provides
in-kind spa certificates and in-kind lodging to a number of local charities,
and helps several other philanthropic causes. These contributions combined
with the biannual grants bring BGV’s giving in 2016 to more than $860,000
in less than one year.
About
BGV Gives
Founded
in 2016, the BGV Gives Program (www.BGVGives.org)
was established to facilitate and further extend Breckenridge Grand Vacations’
philanthropic reach and impact in Summit County and the surrounding area.
Inspired by the late BGV Owner/Developer, Rob
Millisor, this charitable program honors his example of service to
others by supporting the local nonprofit community. BGV is excited and
humbled to continue Rob’s legacy of giving through fundraising, sponsorships,
grants, volunteering and in-kind donations on behalf of those in need,
with a primary focus on health, human services and education. With guidance
from the BGV Gives Program Manager, Deb Edwards, this program is committed
to growing BGV’s local contributions and inspiring fellow community members
to give more, by providing resources and opportunities to help others in
need.
About
Breckenridge Grand Vacations
Created
in 1984, Breckenridge Grand Vacations (BGV) was built by brothers Mike
and Rob Millisor and friend Mike Dudick upon the belief that the success
of their company would be determined by the positive impact it had on their
owners and guests, employees and the community. The developers of the company
also embraced the concept that BGV would be the best in sales if they were
first and foremost the best in customer service. The company has embraced
the Net Promoter methodology company-wide and consistently beats industry
averages with its high scores. BGV (www.BreckenridgeGrandVacations.com)
now creates Grand vacations for over 23,000 owners and employs over 500
staff members.
