PowerSolutions Atlanta Kicks Off CCRA’s
2018 Event Schedule with a Big Win
|
Fort Worth, TX – March 2018 / Newsmaker Alert / More than 140 Atlanta-area travel agents and 23 of the travel industry’s top suppliers were in attendance at the premiere PowerSolutions LIVE event of 2018 at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta Buckhead, Wednesday, February 21st.

2017 proved CCRA’s PowerSolutions is the “go-to” event for travel agents looking to grow their skills, network, and expand their education. After holding the event in 11 cities, CCRA Travel Commerce Network (CCRA) enhanced the PowerSolutions format for 2018 to include more educational components, round table sessions for advanced agents, and a marketing workshop hosted by Tammy Levent, CEO of Elite Travel & Founder of TASK, called PowerStrategies. Margie Jordan, CCRA’s Vice President of Agent Education launched a new workshop as well, focused on business strategies for entrepreneurs.

While the focus of the event remained on helping travel agents connect face-to-face with some of CCRA’s leading suppliers, the newer aspects of the show proved to add even more value to the unique PowerSolutions concept. CCRA’s Director of Meetings & Events, Stacey Tarr, had this to say, “The entire event had great energy, as agents were excited to see our newly expanded agenda and educational components. When we opened our doors at 2 pm, the line filled the lobby right away.” Stacey added, “It’s clear that there is an industry need for more focused, dynamic events like PowerSolutions throughout the year for agents located all over the world.”

The event started with a keynote presentation by Israel Tourism’s Hagar Sides. She shared inside tips on traveling to Israel, booking travel and activities, and discussed why agents should work more closely with tourism boards. Agents leaving the keynote session were abuzz about how much they learned, and how they were going to follow up with Hagar at her booth during the trade show.

New for 2018, the Supplier and Platinum Agency Round Tables and PowerStrategies Session followed the keynote. Agents who qualified for the round tables could sit down in groups of 10 with Gold sponsors for intimate 10-minute meetings. This gave them the opportunity to make a personal connection with suppliers and ask questions about working together. For agents who are newer to the industry, or work in smaller volumes, Tammy Levent of Elite Travel hosted PowerStrategies, a marketing workshop for agents who needed a little extra boost in their business. Tammy is a powerhouse in the travel industry, and her session is something that agents will be able to look forward to at all PowerSolutions events this year.

Rounding out the educational sessions was Margie Jordan’s session, “Making the Leap from Travel Agent to Business Owner,” which focused on developing a niche, strategic supplier partnerships, and setting financial goals. Margie also showed agents how to create a marketing plan and a content/lead generation strategy that they can use throughout the year.

Leonie Senior from Bountiful Travels had this to say about the event, “A great big thank you to the CCRA staff for a wonderful, informative event in Atlanta. There was such great information shared by CCRA and the other presenters and thanks to all the suppliers for spending the time with us. I look forward to working with them in the future.”

When the trade show floor opened, agents filled the room. There were 23 of the industry’s top suppliers representing all different services, from hotels, airlines, tourism boards, and technology providers, including:

  • Israel Ministry of Tourism
  • Travefy
  • Desire - Temptation, Cancun
