Chicken
Salad Chick Foundation Raises
Over
$100,000 to Fight Hunger
|
Auburn,
AL – January 2017 / Newsmaker Alert / The
Chicken Salad Chick
Foundation (CSCF), the non-profit organization affiliated with Chicken
Salad Chick, the nation’s only southern inspired, fast casual chicken
salad restaurant concept, announces it raised over $100,000 through its
third annual Coupon Book fundraiser to provide 400,000 meals to hungry
families across eight states. As part of the fundraiser, the CSCF partnered
with 60 participating Chicken Salad Chick locations and their respective
food-related charities to sell 22,000 Chicken Salad Chick coupon books
in November and December, which can be redeemed over the course of the
2017 calendar year.
“We
couldn’t be more proud of the impact the CSCF has had on hungry families
across the Southeast,” said Stacy Brown, Chicken Salad Chick founder. “Over
the past three years, the foundation has raised more than $250,000 for
local food-related charities, providing the equivalent of 1 million meals.
The continued success of this fundraiser is a true testament to the CSCF’s
mission to feed the hungry, and we look forward to positively impacting
the lives of those in need for years to come.”
The
Chicken Salad Chick concept, born in Auburn, Ala., was established in 2008
in the kitchen of founder, Stacy Brown. When Stacy discovered that the
local county health department would not allow her to continue making and
selling her delicious recipes out of her home kitchen, she overcame that
obstacle by launching her first restaurant with the business expertise
of her future husband and fellow founder, Kevin Brown. Together, they opened
a small takeout restaurant, which quickly grew; the company now has more
than 60 restaurants across the Southeast.
