Mettetal have been chosen to provide interiors for two mountain homes
in Linville, North Carolina, developed by The Lutgert Companies and due
for completion in April 2017.
Linville
Ridge is located 75 miles northeast of Asheville in the Blue Ridge
Mountains of North Carolina. The Lutgert Companies has developed a 1,800-acre
golf course community designed to both complement and pay tribute to the
majesty of this breathtaking site. Linville Ridge is a collection of estate
homes, mountain cottages and town homes. Set at an elevation of nearly
5,000 feet, Linville Ridge is the highest golf course community east of
the Mississippi, providing a perfect example of The Lutgert Companies’
penchant for preserving and enhancing the uncompromised beauty that only
nature can provide. The company has also developed The Estuary at Grey
Oaks, the renowned Park Shore community, the high rises at Bonita Bay and
Mercato, a mixed-use community in North Naples.
At
Linville Ridge, designers Losier and Mettetal were asked to create a design
for the homes that would reflect their mountain landscape environment.
Since North Carolina is widely known as the “rock state,” the designers
felt it important to have a strong presence of this natural element in
both their models. Large windows overlooking wooded mountain scenes, provided
further inspiration to incorporate wood and natural tones into the interior
designs.
At
2,893-square-feet, the Evergreen is the larger of the mountain homes with
a palate of warm grays – featured in both hardwood flooring and ledge stone
in the dramatic two-story fireplace with a floating hearth and built-in
benches on each side. Fabrics are textured, relaxed and comfortable. Furniture
has weathered finishes with some reminders of traditional elements. Accents
of rich indigo blue are sprinkled throughout the home in paint, natural
and rich fabrics.

With
2,462-square-feet, the Spruce residence is on the opposite color spectrum
of the Evergreen with a 17-foot stone fireplace the focal point of the
entire home. The ledge stone is a light sand/ tan color, resembling the
coloring of Alleghany stone mined in NC. This is contrasted with white
12” wide horizontal cladding on the wall, creating the feeling that the
home has been around a few generations. The wide textured hardwood flooring
throughout most the home has the coloring of freshly cut wood with natural
imperfections. Light linen and natural stone-toned fabrics are relaxed
and comfortable with the warm finishes of furnishings evoking a natural
organic feeling.
