Dallas, TX – May 2017 / Newsmaker Alert / Cowboy Chicken, the Dallas-based rotisserie chain known for its wood-fired chicken and handmade side dishes, opened its first Oklahoma location with a heaping helping of cowboy-style hospitality. During its February grand opening celebration in Oklahoma City, the restaurant at 13801 N. Pennsylvania Ave. collected donations for Camp Fire Heart of Oklahoma. Cowboy Chicken also hosted a “Dine to Donate” fundraiser on Feb. 27, with 25% of all proceeds going to the camp. Those combined efforts raised over $3200 for the youth development organization.

Cowboy Chicken“Cowboy Chicken is dedicated to giving back to the communities in which it operates,” says Cody Trammell, franchise owner and operator of the Oklahoma City location. “The ‘Dine to Donate’ fundraiser was a fundamental part of introducing Cowboy Chicken to the Oklahoma City area, and we’re thrilled to report that the event was a huge success. We look forward to being a vital partner in the community for years to come.”

Camp Fire Heart of Oklahoma provides a variety of outdoor educational programs for boys and girls ages 5 to 18. On a sprawling, 33-acre campground, campers are encouraged to discover their passions and develop the skills to become active participants and leaders in their schools, peer groups and communities.

Cowboy Chicken of Oklahoma City opened on Feb. 6 in a 2,476-square-foot space across from the Memorial Square Shopping Center. The restaurant, open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., features a contemporary dining area with a rustic feel highlighted by a central rotisserie, allowing diners to watch chickens roasting over an open flame. It is Cowboy Chicken’s 22nd location, and the first to be operated by Trammell and the Southern Fired Hospitality Group.

Cowboy Chicken serves all-natural, hormone-free rotisserie chickens that are hand-seasoned in store, marinated for 24 hours and then slowly roasted for two hours over a real wood-burning fire. Other dishes include signature sour cream tomatillo chicken enchiladas, abundant scratch-made sides such as Twice Baked Potaters™, Baked Mac & Cheese, Ranchero Beans and seasonal cobblers baked in-house daily. Cowboy Chicken’s hearty and healthy dishes are available during lunch and dinner for dine-in, take out, catering and delivery.
