Geneva-on-the-Lake, OH
– May 2016 / Newsmaker Alert / According
to AAA, in 2016 a growing number of travelers are looking for vacation
experiences they can share with friends and family. From baby boomers to
millennials, many are seeking non-traditional accommodations for larger
groups with the added convenience of resort amenities. The
Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake’s 25 new cottages, opening June 20, are
designed to help serve the changing needs of travelers.
Group Travelers Seek Comfort
of Home with Added Convenience
In addition, with a growing emphasis on providing children with experiences versus ‘things,’ the trend of multiple families vacationing together continues to grow each year. These vacationers are seeking non-traditional accommodations for larger groups as well. “The needs of group travelers
are continually evolving and The Lodge has seen a growing desire from our
guests for accommodations that can be shared by larger groups,” said Eric
Frantz, General Manager, The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake. “Our new cottages
provide the best of both worlds – they are clustered together in a community
environment where guests can easily gather together to enjoy shared experiences,
but still have the convenience of separate, private spaces to retreat to
and call their own.”
L-R: Cottage and planned development (both are renderings). Blending Business with Leisure Travel The trend of mixing business and pleasure is growing more than ever, especially among millennials. This growing trend of bleisure travel (aka, blending business trips with leisure travel) isn’t just taking time out during a business trip to relax; but rather, it’s the act of rolling business trips and vacations into one. According to BridgeStreet Global Hospitality’s Bleisure Report, nearly half of respondents (46%) add personal travel days to business travel “every trip” or to “most trips.” More than half (54%) of travelers that take bleisure trips bring their family members or significant other with them. “Our cottages provide an upgraded opportunity for bleisure travelers to spend time with their spouses and children after a business trip,” said Frantz. “The cottages serve as the perfect ‘home base’ for guests as they explore Ashtabula County’s local culture and unique experiences.” About the Cottages
