30 Days of Giving Benefiting Brevard County Sharing Centers Kicks
Off with $5,000 Donation from Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex
|
Cape Canaveral, FL – November 2015 / Newsmaker Alert / The fourth annual 30 Days of Giving at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, which benefits the Brevard County Sharing Centers, launched with the presentation of a $5,000 check to Dave Brubaker, president and chief executive officer of Central Brevard Sharing Center, by Therrin Protze, chief operating officer of the visitor complex. The gift is in honor of the 100th anniversary of Delaware North, the company that operates the visitor complex for NASA.

“Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is honored to present the Central Brevard Sharing Center with this $5,000 donation to support the important work they do here in Brevard County,” said Protze. “And with support and contributions from Brevard residents, we hope to collect a record amount of food donations this year.”

Dave Brubaker accepted the check with Joe Robinson, executive director of North Brevard Charities Sharing Center, and John Autry, executive director of South Brevard Sharing Center. “I want to start by saying two important words to everyone: thank you.” said Brubaker. “Thank you on behalf of those receiving the food. Some of these people would go hungry without the food we provide, and we couldn’t do it without your support.”

Through 30 Days of Giving contributions made at the visitor complex of nonperishable food items, Brevard residents can support the three area sharing centers, which provide emergency assistance to individuals and families in need.

Residents of Brevard County who participate in the program are asked to bring canned goods and nonperishable food items to receive 70 percent off admission to the visitor complex for up to six people from Nov. 1-30, 2015.

Proof of Brevard County residency in the form of a driver’s license or utility bill is required to receive the special visitor complex admission rate of $15 plus tax for adults and $10 plus tax for children 3-11 years. Tickets must be purchased at the visitor complex on the date of entry.
