Island just got a lot more interesting as the Junior
Rangers program has been expanded to be more experiential and immersive
into the natural wonderland that exists on, in and around the island and
its pristine waters. There are now two options for children ages 6 to 12:
the original 1 1/2-hour Junior Rangers program and the new Junior Rangers
Plus. Guests can pre-book these sessions with the resort.
Junior Rangers Plus Activities
This new 4 1/2-hour program
will take the children on an interactive and hands on journey to explore,
experience and gain a greater understanding of the intricate and simply
beautiful eco-system of Heron Island. Experiences will include:

Reef walks and tours

Visits to the world renowned
Research Station – where touch tank activities take the children to the
heart of some of the Great Barrier Reef’s flora and fauna.

Fish feeding – the local fish
are friendly, fun and HUGE

Evening plankton workshops and
astronomy star gazing

Special “Junior Rangers” ONLY
trip out to the reef on the Heron Island I SPY semi-sub
It will not be all nature and
science – beach cricket, kite flying, beach races and Trivia Nights, to
test the children on what they discovered during the day will provide great
social interactions and create life long memories.
