Buffalo, NY – August 2019 / Newsmaker Alert / Christopher Harter, an accomplished hospitality industry executive of more than 35 years, has joined Delaware North as president of Patina Restaurant Group. He is based at the company’s global headquarters in Buffalo.

Delaware North Announces the Hiring of Christopher Harter as President of Patina Restaurant GroupIn his role, Harter will provide direct leadership to Patina Restaurant Group’s global business strategy – including profitable operation of existing business and exploration of new opportunities – while sustaining investment, engagement and development of talent throughout the organization. Among many responsibilities, he will focus on major revenue and profit streams, client and consumer requirements, as well as new business opportunities, product and concept innovations and competitive advantages for Patina.

Patina Restaurant Group is one of the most respected restaurant companies in North America, with an unequaled group of world-class venues and restaurant locations. The company began more than 65 years ago and is today wholly owned by Delaware North.

Patina operates more than 50 restaurants – including Patina 250 at The Delaware North Building – and manages catering and dining operations at landmark locations, high-profile cultural and entertainment venues, and for a diverse mix of corporate partners across the United States. The company’s namesake location in Los Angeles, Patina Restaurant, earned a Michelin star and four stars from the Los Angeles Times.

Harter most recently spent four years as vice president of Phillips Foods – a global organization with a portfolio of 21 restaurants, two United States-based seafood processing plants, a large food-service sales division, seven Asian seafood processing and value-added factories, an ocean-based barramundi farm in Bali, two hotels and international sales and distribution. In that role, he reported to Steve Phillips, owner and CEO of the 100-year-old privately held company, while overseeing all financial, operational and developmental growth tactics for the restaurant portfolio.

From 2011 to 2015, Harter served as president and CEO of Restaurants Unlimited, where he was responsible for all aspects of operations and strategic growth plans. Under his watch, the Seattle-based organization had 21 unique concepts and a total of 48 units with a geographic footprint spread over 13 states, ranging from Alaska to Virginia.

His career also includes five years as president and CEO of Legacy Restaurants in Houston; two years with Levy Restaurants, including one as president; and 10 years as president of ITB Management in Scottsdale, Ariz., where he developed restaurants from the ground up. From 1984 to 1993, Harter was executive chef, general manager and partner of Christopher’s Restaurant in Tiburon, Calif.

Harter studied hotel and restaurant management at the University of Houston.
