Buffalo, NY – September
2017 / Newsmaker Alert / Last
week, global hospitality company Delaware
North proudly celebrated the one-year anniversaries of The
Westin Buffalo and Patina 250.
The properties – both operated by Delaware North – are located in The Delaware
North Building, home of the company’s global headquarters.
“This is a significant milestone for Delaware North,” said Jim Houser, the company’s executive vice president and chief operations officer. “We’ve operated in Buffalo for more than a century, and we’re proud to be contributing to the city’s resurgence and tourism with a signature hotel and restaurant. We’re thrilled that our guests have responded so positively, and look forward to continuing to raise the bar with both The Westin Buffalo and Patina 250.” In celebration of the milestone anniversary, the properties are debuting the Courtyard at Patina 250, a stunning new outdoor dining space. Open daily at 4 p.m., the 6,000-square-foot area features comfortable furniture, several fireplaces, a full bar, and a food menu from Patina 250 including small plates, flatbread pizzas and desserts. It also hosts live music every Friday evening, while weather permits. The space is also available for private rentals. In its first year of operation, The Westin Buffalo, a 115-room luxury lifestyle hotel, experienced several highlights. The property was awarded a prestigious Four Diamond Rating from AAA, becoming just the second hotel in Buffalo to achieve that status. It was specifically commended in several areas, including its use of excellent technology enhancements. Earlier this year, The Westin Buffalo introduced two innovative service delivery models – its robot butler, “Chip,” and guest-servicing Amazon Echo devices in each of its guest rooms. The hotel is also the top-recommended Westin property in the North America. It has become a popular destination for professional athletes and entertainers traveling through Buffalo, and the Marriott Corporation has used the hotel for several high-profile meetings and photo shoots to showcase the Westin brand. Patina 250, the upscale American restaurant operated by Delaware North’s Patina Restaurant Group, has also experienced a successful first year. In addition to numerous kudos from local food critics and bloggers – including an impressive “8 plate” rating (out of 10) in a review from The Buffalo News – it launched a successful cooking class series, “Mastering Home Cooking with Homer,” with Executive Chef Homer Ford. Jake’s Café, which is also located in The Delaware North Building and operated by the company’s Patina Restaurant Group, celebrates its first anniversary this week as well. About
