Barbecue Pit Signs Five-Store
Development
Agreement Across Three States
|
The new stores
will be located in Tennessee, Mississippi and Georgia

Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. has just signed its newest development agreement
for five new stores. Two stores will open in Mississippi, with two other
locations coming to Tennessee and one in Georgia. Owner / Operators Ray
Smith and Jim Rogers will open their first store in spring of next year.
“Dickey’s
is seeing an influx of multi-store development agreements nationwide,”
said Roland Dickey,
Jr., CEO of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. “These development
deals are instrumental in growing the Dickey’s brand across the country,

With
over 30 years each in the oil and gas industry, Ray and Jim were first
introduced to Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in their travels throughout Texas in
2000. Having both retired from the same major oil company, they continued
to work closely on other projects in the oil and gas business, but kept
a close eye on the brand’s growth. An avid biker, Smith frequented the
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit closest to his favorite Harley Davidson dealer, with
Jim, the golfer, often finishing his round with a stop at Dickey’s. “Life
depends a lot on the right timing and with years of retail marketing, engineering
and site selection experience between us, the path seemed clear. We caught
a little lightning in a bottle,” said Smith.
