Kentucky Downs and Encore Set New
Single Month Historic Horse Racing Handle Record
|
Franklin, KY – January 2016 / Newsmaker Alert / For the second time in six months, Kentucky Downs, utilizing the Encore Racing Based Games (RBG) Historic Horse Racing system and games, broke their single month handle record. The $34,873,506 wagered in December set a new one-month HHR handle record, besting the record set in July by almost $500,000. Overall handle was up $7.84 million compared to last December.

In the six months since Encore was fully deployed at Kentucky Downs, the track has averaged over $32 million per month in Historic Horse Racing handle. In addition to monthly handle records, the Encore system and games have produced each of the top six monthly total jackpots awarded, which in turn helped drive record attendance numbers in three of the last six months.

“The record handle number in December was a perfect way to end a very successful first year,” commented Encore President Jeremy Stein. “We look forward to strengthening our partnership with Kentucky Downs in the coming year, as we continue to provide them with a technologically advanced Historic Horse Racing system with exciting games that players love. With Encore's serious commitment to R&D and increased game production, we are confident that new handle records will continue to be set, which will further increase revenues for the track, the horse industry, and the Commonwealth of Kentucky.”
