Bushkill, PA – September 2016 / Newsmaker Alert / The unofficial start of fall is after Labor Day when the children return to school but there is still plenty of family friendly packages offered at The Villas and Fernwood Resort that focus on appreciating the outdoors and farm living by partnering with the Quiet Valley Living Farm Museum in Stroudsburg, PA for their Harvest Festival Weekend on October 8-9.

Gina Bertucci, spokesperson for the Resort, comments, “Fall is a great time to be in the Poconos. The temperatures are cooler, the pace is slower, and Quiet Valley’s programs make it possible to learn something new while taking advantage of the many amenities of our Resort including Pocono TreeVentures our aerial ropes course, Pocono Zip Racer our dual racing zip lines, and Blue Lightning all season tubing.”

The package includes four tickets to the Festival and two nights of studio villa accommodations starting from $239 a night. Bertucci continues, “Guests have the chance to see what fall on the farm was like with craft demonstrations including apple butter making, spinning, weaving, broom making, candle making and hearth cooking.” Country food is served with folk entertainment, storytelling, and a pumpkin patch. Bertucci said, “This is a great family educational experience that gives children the opportunity to see how hard our forefathers worked living and feeding their families off the farm.”

The Villas and Fernwood Resort is a 400-acre four-season resort located in the Pocono Mountains. It offers golf on its 18 hole par 71 course, indoor and outdoor pools, live entertainment, Wintergreens Patio Grill, horseback riding, massage, miniature golf, hiking in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, canoeing on the Delaware River, paintball, a fitness center, bumper boats, daily scheduled activities and the aerial ropes course, zip lines and all season tubing attractions.

To reserve your fall package, call the Fernwood Reservations staff at 888-337-6966 or go to FernwoodResortPoconos.com. The Resort is located on Route 209 in Bushkill, PA adjacent to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Bertucci concludes, “With so much to do in the Pocono Mountains in the fall, we recommend you stay more than one night to fit as much as you can into your itinerary.”
