Get Outdoors Day, Saturday, June 14, 2014, visitors to Mormon
Lake Lodge will enjoy a FREE outdoor festival from 10 a.m. until 3
p.m. More than 50 exhibitors representing sportsmen, conservation groups,
government agencies, outdoor recreation, wildlife conservation, natural
resources and environmental organizations will provide free, family-friendly,
fun experiences and informative displays. The event is sponsored by Forever
Resorts and Mormon Lake Lodge, as well as other area businesses.

Free
children’s activities will include fishing in the trout pond, archery,
shooting in the air rifle trailer, games and live wildlife viewing with
many birds, reptiles, and mammals from the Arizona Game and Fish Department,
the Arizona Herpetological Association and the Adobe Mountain Wildlife
Rehabilitation Center.
In
addition, attendees may celebrate National Get Outdoors Day by hiking,
mountain biking, or horseback riding in the Coconino National Forest surrounding
Mormon Lake Lodge. Outdoor enthusiasts will have opportunities to hike
or ride on the numerous mountain trails, including the Arizona National
Scenic Trail which begins at the trailheads located at Mormon Lake Lodge.
For
those who wish to explore the forest trails on rental equipment, four-wheel-drive
Rangers, mountain bikes and horseback riding will be available for a fee.
