Lake Mohave, NV – October 2014 / Newsmaker Alert / At 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, U.S. Senator Harry Reid and Lake Mead National Recreation Area Superintendent Bill Dickinson commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Lake Mead NRA at Cottonwood Cove Resort and Marina on Lake Mohave with a cake-cutting ceremony. They were joined by John Schoppmann, executive vice president, Forever Resorts, which was presented with the National Park Service’s Environmental Achievement Award for Green Innovation for its efficient, low-impact floating Marina Service Building. The building is the world’s first floating building to receive Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
