Burnaby, BC – September
2017 / Newsmaker Alert / Gateway
Casinos & Entertainment (Gateway) announces that it is launching
their 25th anniversary celebrations with a spectacular renovation at Grand
Villa Casino Burnaby (Grand Villa) including renovations to the gaming
floor, a refresh of the Delta Hotels Burnaby Conference Centre and public
spaces, and the addition of new dining options: Chow Lucky Noodle Bar (Chow),
Atlas Steak + Fish (Atlas) and Villa Bistro. The project will bring up
to 75 new jobs and a $15 million investment to the local economy.
| “This spectacular $15 million renovation of our flagship property will bring even more incomparable customer experiences to Grand Villa and Delta Hotels Burnaby,” said Tony Santo, CEO of Gateway. Gateway’s newest restaurant brand, Chow, features the freshest wok fried creations from the Far East. Guests can enjoy counter-side seating as chefs apply their ‘noodle-craft’, creating imaginative dishes ranging from zesty to the ultimate in umami. Chow will serve a menu focused on freshness and vibrant flavours, with a diversity of Asian cooking styles. Atlas is a modern twist on the iconic North American steakhouse. Building on the success of Atlas at Cascades Casino Kamloops and Grand Villa Casino Edmonton, Gateway is pleased to bring Atlas to Grand Villa and Delta Hotels Burnaby. Selecting the finest ingredients, exploring global flavours, showcasing unique cooking techniques, and engaging table-side service are all elements that speak to the commitment of crafting a truly distinctive Atlas dining encounter. “The Grand Villa and Delta Hotels Burnaby has become a very successful entertainment and accommodation venue in our city, says Burnaby Mayor Derek Corrigan. I know that customers and visitors will welcome the many new attractions this renovation will enable – and that Burnaby citizens will enjoy both the new venues and the economic benefits and jobs the renovation will provide. Congratulations to the Grand Villa and Delta Hotels on their ongoing success in our community.” Renovations on the gaming floor are underway with new carpet installation, improvements to the Poker Room, and the addition of more games. The 195 hotel rooms and public spaces at the adjacent Delta Hotels Burnaby Conference Centre will also be refreshed. The property will remain open for business, with minimal disruption to employees and customers, during the renovations. Chow is open for business and Atlas Steak + Fish is set to open in late September 2017. Given the continued investment and commitment in improving the customer experience through dining and entertainment amenities, Gateway and Grand Villa are excited to announce the addition of the Executive Food and Beverage Manager, Chef Sylvain Cuerrier. Chef Cuerrier is a Red Seal Certified Chef and a Certified Chef de Cuisine. “We are excited to add new amenities to the site and refresh the entire property for our customers and employees. This will be the first Atlas Steak + Fish location in the lower mainland, and the debut of Chow,” said Rowland England, General Manager, Grand Villa. “I’d also like to welcome Chef Sylvain Cuerrier to our Grand Villa team.” Starting October 1st Gateway will celebrate 25 years in the business of entertainment. More details on the celebration events happening at all 26 Gateway locations will follow in the weeks to come including more important investment announcements. About
