Most of all, we appreciate the people of London and surrounding area that have been supportive of the venue since we opened in October 2002.” Global Spectrum at Budweiser Gardens was named a finalist for the prestigious award in December 2013. HR Downloads was selected as the second finalist in the Large Business category with 90 full-time employees. Since 2008, the membership-based, online resource has provided human resources documents, templates, calculators, and training videos customized to suit a range of clients, based on feedback. Business of the Year Awards for Small and Medium companies, as well as Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental Leadership, Excellence in Human Resources, and Innovation were among other awards presented at the event. The venue has been a member of the London Chamber of Commerce for ten years, and this is the company’s first major win at the Business Achievement Awards. The success of the facility in London is often called upon by other municipalities that are either looking to build a new facility or are interested in the London model. “Global Spectrum prides itself on being active members of the business community,” said Global Spectrum President John Page. “This is award is a true testament to Brian Ohl and his hard-working staff who make it a priority to provide top-notch entertainment in the most comfortable environment as possible. The venue exceeded expectations hosting the World Figure Skating Championships in March 2013, and has since hosted numerous world-class artists such as Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, the Dixie Chicks and Keith Urban. The Global Spectrum staff at Budweiser Gardens will now prepare for the renowned Mastercard Memorial Cup May 16-25, 2014 (last hosted in 2005), as well as welcome Black Sabbath (April 9), Varekai by Cirque du Soleil (May 28-June 1), and Michael Buble (June 30) to the building.
