City
of Sandy Springs Selects Firm to Provide Programming and
Management
Services for City Center Public Gathering Facilities
|
Sandy
Springs, GA – May 2015 / Newsmaker Alert / The City of Sandy Springs
announced it has selected Global
Spectrum, an international venue management firm, to oversee operations
for the Public Gathering Facilities within City Center, including the performing
arts center, family theater, meeting space and park.
“We
are creating a sense of place in our downtown area, and the experience,
our ability to maintain activity there at varying times of the day, is
a critical factor in the project’s success. Global Spectrum has not
only the experience to manage facilities like the PAC, they also have a
strong record of generating successful, creative programming,” said Sandy
Springs Mayor Rusty Paul.
Global
Spectrum was one of three firms considered, which included SMG and VenuWorks.
Criteria included each firm’s approach to pre-opening services, programming
and management and marketing of the Public Gathering Facilities.
The
recommendation in support of Global Spectrum cited several factors in support:
-
The firm’s
extensive client portfolio of projects similar in scope
-
Global
Spectrum thoroughly researched the City Center development, which was evident
in its interview
-
The firm
has a local market presence, with numerous venues in the Southeast United
States
-
Global
Spectrum presented a viable approach to collaboration with other consultants
on the City Center development
During
its May 19, 2015 meeting, the Sandy Springs City Council authorized the
City Manager to proceed with negotiations with Global Spectrum for a contract
to provide programming and management services for the Public Gathering
Facilities at City Center.
