The
Krystal Company Implements
Energy
Saving Program at Restaurants

Helps
Reduce Energy Costs Statewide in Georgia
|
Atlanta,
GA – October 2015 / Newsmaker Alert / The
Krystal Company®, the brand famous for its signature square hamburgers,
is doing its part to help the environment by implementing a new energy
saving program at its Georgia restaurant locations.
This
spring, Krystal® partnered with Georgia Power to create a plan to reduce
energy transmissions and costs at its restaurants across the state. Krystal
installed new LED lighting at 72 Georgia locations, which equates to more
than 600 light fixtures being replaced over the course of three months.
The replacement equaled an energy saving rebate of more than $60,000 across
the state. A total of 55 stores qualified for Georgia Power’s Commercial
Energy Efficiency rebate, estimating in an overall savings of more than
2,800,000 kilowatt-hours.
“Running
an environmentally conscious business is important for us,” said Brian
Blosser, the Vice President of Development and Construction at The Krystal
Company®. “We’re always looking for ways to reduce our environmental
impact, and, by replacing the lights, we not only did that, but also helped
our store’s bottom line.”
With
the success of the this program, The Krystal Company® plans to install
LED lighting in all new restaurant locations and store remodels throughout
the country, and aims to install the lighting in many existing Krystal
locations over the next several years.
