“The View” Restaurant
at the historic Mirror Lake Inn
Resort and Spa, has been honored for its outstanding wine program in
Wine Spectator’s 2017
Restaurant Awards. “The View” is Lake Placid’s only AAA Four Diamond “Exceptional”
restaurant, and is recognized among other winners from all over the globe
as a top destination for wine lovers.

Wine
Spectator began its program to recognize the world’s best wine lists
in 1981. There are three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award
of Excellence and the Grand Award—with 2,335; 1,168; and 89 winners this
year in each respective category. Five of the Grand Award winners are first
timers.
The
View Restaurant has won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence,
which recognizes restaurants whose wine lists feature a well-chosen assortment
of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price
and style.
The
View’s upscale menu is enhanced with 485 wine selections, valued at more
than $400,000.
The

View Restaurant has been AAA Four Diamond designated for the past 10 years,
while the Mirror Lake Inn has held the same distinction for 33 consecutive
years, second longest in all of New York State. Together, they are Lake
Placid’s only AAA Four Diamond lodging and dining combination.
