Killington, VT – February 2018 / Newsmaker Alert / New Life Hiking Spa was recently named the number one spa and wellness experience in 2017 by Spas of America. It is the fourth time New Life has been listed in the #1 spot and is one of the most established destination spas on the list.

New Life Hiking Spa was founded 40 years ago in the Green Mountains of Vermont when health and fitness retreats were just beginning. Founded by Jimmy LeSage, M.S. in 1978, New Life Hiking Spa has been considered one of the pioneer wellness retreats that shaped the spa and wellness tourism industry to what it is today. Mr. LeSage is the author of “40 Years of Authentic Wellness” and is still actively involved with New Life Hiking Spa to this day.

New Life Hiking Spa spent many decades on Killington Mountain at the Inn of the Six Mountains. The property was acquired by Innisfree Hotels in 2014 and New Life operated for the past three seasons at a nearby hotel. Just in time for the 40th anniversary, New Life Hiking Spa will return to its Killington location. A major renovation has taken place over the past few years and this beautiful hotel is now the Killington Mountain Lodge.

“We’re very proud to announce New Life Hiking Spa was Spas of America’s #1 spa and wellness experience in 2017,” says Craig Oliver, president of Spas of America. “New Life’s formula for creating a comfortable, rewarding, affordable and exciting health experience is a favorite with health and fitness consumers across North America. For 2018, we anticipate the New Life Hiking Spa experience will only improve, with a move to the newly renovated Killington Mountain Lodge.”

New Life Hiking Spa’s 2018 season will run from May 17 – October 1. It offers a 21-night extended-stay wellness retreat, an 11-night weight loss retreat, a 5-10 night jump start vacation and a 2-4 night mini-wellness getaway. Reservations are now being accepted for the upcoming season.

All-inclusive packages include a private room with a private bath, guided hikes along the Appalachian Trail and Long Trail, three freshly prepared meals a day, all fitness and yoga classes, wellness lectures and one massage for each three-night stay.

In addition to New Life Hiking Spa’s #1 ranking on the Spas of America list for 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, New Life was listed as the #1 Destination Spa in America for the 2016 Travel + Leisure Magazine Awards and USA Today’s 10 Best Health & Wellness Vacations for 2016 & 2017.
