Syracuse,
NY – April 2014 / Newsmaker Alert / Train, the band behind some
of the most well-known songs of the last decade, will perform at the Great
New York State Fair Grandstand at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26,
Richard A. Ball, Acting Commissioner of the New York State Department of
Agriculture and Markets, announced.
Train burst onto the music
scene with the Grammy-winning hit “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)” in 2002,
along with hit singles “Meet Virginia” and “Calling All Angels.” “Hey,
Soul Sister” not only was another chart-topping, Grammy-winning success
for Train, it was also 2010’s best selling single. “Drive By” and “50 Ways
to Say Goodbye,” from 2012’s “California 37” album, earned Train legions
of new fans as the band neared its 20th anniversary.
Opening for Train will be
The Wallflowers, fronted by co-founder Jakob Dylan. The Wallflowers’ debut
album, “Bringing Down The Horse,” featured four top charting singles including
“6th Avenue Heartache,” “One Headlight,” “The Difference,” and “Three Marlenas.”
The group has two Grammy awards to its credit and has sold more than seven
million records worldwide.
Tickets prices at $55, $45,
and $35 go on sale at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5 at the State Fair Box
Office and at the Fair’s only and official online ticket agent, etix.com.

York agriculture at this year’s Fair. I encourage everyone to make the
trip to Central New York, take in some live music, taste the wonders produced
by New York agriculture, and come to the Great New York State Fair this
year,” said Acting Commissioner Ball.
