NY – April 2014 / Newsmaker Alert / Journey will take people
on an exciting trip through four decades of its well-loved songs at the
New York State Fairgrounds Grandstand at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August

Journey has sold 80 million
albums worldwide and has earned 19 Top 40 singles and 25 gold, platinum
and multi-platinum albums since its formation in 1973 in San Francisco.
The prestigious “Legend of Live Award” was presented to Journey at the
2011 Billboard Touring Awards to honor the band’s contributions to live
music and the touring business and to acknowledge their commitment to fans
and the art of performing live. The band’s 2011 World Tour was one of the
band’s most successful tours ever, drawing nearly a million fans and ranked
in the Top 15 Tours of the year. The band’s seminal anthem, “Don’t Stop
Believin’,” remains the biggest selling song from the 20th century in iTunes
history. In 2013, Journey toured four continents and performed to more
than half a million fans.
Cheap Trick will open for
Journey. With more than 5,000 performances, 20 million records sold, 29
movie soundtracks and 40 gold and platinum recording awards, the band was
honored in October 2007 by the Chicago Chapter of the National Academy
of Recording Arts & Sciences for their contributions to the music industry.
Their most current release, “The Latest,” has garnered glowing reviews
worldwide and continues Cheap Trick’s reign as power-pop progenitors as
they continue their legacy of over 35 years in the music industry.
