Fair’s group sales program offers organizations and companies a way to
provide a benefit to large numbers of employees or clients at a very affordable
price. Groups interested in taking advantage of the program have until
Friday, Aug. 8 to submit their orders, State Fair Acting Director Troy
Waffner announced Thursday (July 31).
Under the program, groups
of 100 or more can purchase tickets in bulk for an added discount beyond
the 40% savings available on individual admission tickets bought in advance,
according to the following schedule:
100 to 249 tickets: $5.75
each
250 – 499 tickets: $5.50
each
500 – 999 tickets: $5.25
each
1000 – 1999 tickets:
$5.00 each
2000 tickets or more:
$4.75 each
At the same time, organizations
can also order parking passes for $5 each, Best Bets Bargain Books for
$4 each, and ride-all-day wristbands for the Wade Shows Midway for $20
each. To place an order, download the form linked at www.nysfair.org/group-ticket-sales
and fax it to the Fair at 315-487-9260.
“The Fair is not only fun
for families, it is a morale-boosting outing for companies for their employees
or clients. I encourage any organization to consider using our group sales
program to provide an inexpensive and valuable benefit,” said Waffner.
Last year, more than 23,000
tickets were sold via the group sales program, an increase of nearly 5,000
from the year before. Loretto Community Residences of Syracuse bought 4,000
tickets through the program for its employees. “Loretto’s 2,000 employees
and caregivers work hard every year to honor and empower elders to live
with purpose, wholeness, and dignity. The Fair’s Group Sales Program helps
us to thank our employees for the difficult work they do by offering them
discounted admission tickets,” said Michele Rita Gotschalk of Loretto,
who chairs the company’s Works to Appreciate and Value Employees committee.

The New
York State Fair, operated by the New
York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, runs from August
21 – September 1, 2014. The Fair’s mission, reflected in its 2014 theme,
“Summer’s Best in Show,” is to showcase the best of New York agriculture
while providing top-quality entertainment. This year’s tagline – “New Attractions,
Old Favorites, Timeless Fun” – highlights the more than two dozen new events
and attractions and the expansion or enhancement of several Fairgoer favorites.
In addition to the annual
New York State Fair, the Fairgrounds host dozens of agricultural events
throughout the year, including some of the Northeast’s most prestigious
horse and livestock shows.
The home of the Great New
York State Fair is a 375-acre exhibit and entertainment complex that operates
all year. A year-round schedule of events is available on the Fair’s
website.
