Dallas’ Perot Museum of Nature and Science Hosts Amazing
Animals Plus Sizzling Summer Programs

Amazing Animals: Built to Survive, presented by Highland Capital Management and supported by Texas Instruments, will entice visitors to uncover the marvels of natural engineering inside every living thing. Jaws that can crush over 8,000 pounds in one bite, ears that act as air conditioners, a punch faster than a speeding bullet and legs that can leap the human equivalent of a football field in a single bound await in this interactive experience. Open through Sept. 7, the bilingual traveling exhibition will show how every living thing – including humans – is a machine built to survive, move and discover. This exhibition was developed by The Field Museum in partnership with the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, with generous support provided by The Searle Funds at The Chicago Community Trust and ITW. The DIY makerspace, Build It! Nature, presented by Neiman Marcus, encourages families to tinker, create and uncover their inner engineer by exploring a series of engaging stations inspired by the plants and animals around us. Participants can “catch the wind” and test the aerodynamics of various wing shapes, construct small sculptures to be displayed in an ever-changing honeycomb, design an animal-themed car to compete against others on a 30-foot racetrack, test the strength of their own creations in an imagination playground and become their favorite animal through artistic mask creation. Projects are available on a first-come, first-served basis and designed with guests age 7 and older in mind. Opening to the public June 19, the exhibition will be on display in the auditorium on the Museum’s Lower Level through Aug. 16. Build It! Nature requires a surcharge for members and non-members. In The Hoglund Foundation Theater, a National Geographic Experience, guests can enjoy three amazing 3D films including DEEPSEA CHALLENGE 3D, Walking with Dinosaurs: Prehistoric Planet 3D and Meerkats 3D along with Living in the Age of Airplanes. Extended hours are available through Sept. 4, with the Museum open until 6 p.m. daily (holiday extended hours highlighted below), giving visitors an extra hour of discovery.

Discounts. The Perot Museum will offer complimentary general admission for veterans, active and retired U.S. military personnel and First Responders and $3 off general admission for members of their immediate families (up to six family members) through Labor Day (Sept. 7, 2015). In addition, everyone can take advantage of $10 Museum general admission from 4-6 p.m. Monday - Friday (through Sept. 4), including First Thursday Late Nights when the Museum stays open until 9 p.m. (July 2, Aug. 6 and Sept. 3).

Announcing CityPASS Dallas! The Perot Museum is the headline venue for the new Dallas CityPASS featuring admission tickets to four must-see tourist attractions. A Dallas CityPASS provides Museum general admission and a 3D film plus admission to three other popular Dallas attractions. Offering a 41% savings, a CityPASS adult ticket is $44 (a $74.32 value) and a CityPASS child ticket is $30 (a $50.66 value). Hours. Through Sept. 4, the Perot Museum will be open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday - Saturday and from noon-6 p.m. Sunday. On the first Thursday of the month, the Museum will remain open until 9 p.m. for its public Late Night events. On Labor Day weekend, the Museum will operate special hours (go to PerotMuseum.org for details).

Admission. Museum general admission ticket prices are $17 for adults (18-64), $11 for youth (2-17), $12 for seniors (65+), and free for children under 2. Museum general admission is always free for members. Admission to the theater is $6 for a short film (20 minutes) and $8 for a long film (40 minutes) for adults, seniors and youth. For members, admission to the theater is $5 (short film) and $6 (long film). All children under 2 are free.

Amazing Animals: Built to Survive requires a surcharge along with purchase of Museum general admission for non-members for a total admission cost of $24 for adults (18-64), $17 for youth (2-17), and $18 for seniors (65+). Member tickets are $5 for adults (18-64) and $4 for youth (2-17) and seniors (65+). General admission to the Museum and entry into the exhibition is free for children under 2.

Build It! Nature requires a surcharge along with Museum general admission of $5 for non-members of all ages. Museum members of all ages pay a surcharge of $3. General admission to the Museum and entry into the exhibition is free for children under 2.
