Toronto, ON – January 2015 / Newsmaker Alert / Visitors and residents of Toronto are invited to celebrate the end of construction and the much anticipated opening of Queens Quay -Toronto’s newly revitalized waterfront boulevard – this June 19-21, 2015 at the Redpath Waterfront Festival (RWF). The RWF is proud to be part of the official launch of Toronto’s redeveloped Queens Quay Boulevard, which includes a spectacular new pedestrian promenade and waterfront connection for the Martin Goodman Trail.

“From its inaugural event in 2010, to one that currently attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, the Redpath Waterfront Festival is the perfect event to help us celebrate the launch of Toronto’s revitalized Queens Quay Boulevard,” commented Kevin Currie, Chair of The Waterfront BIA.

Opening Parade and Party on the Promenade
The festivities begin on Friday, June 19, 2015, with a Parade along Queens Quay Boulevard and an Opening Celebration in HTO Park. The festival will continue throughout the weekend with The Waterfront BIA’s Party on the Promenade. Pop-up entertainment pods of live music, arts in motion, waterfront lifestyle activations and professional buskers will mark the boulevard from Bay to Spadina.

DANCE Pan American Style!
One of the featured programs for this year’s festival is DANCE Pan American Style! Visitors will be moving to the beat in HTO Park with all things Swing on Friday night and Latin Heat on Saturday. Dance lessons will be offered each day by celebrity instructors (names to be announced in the coming months), and live bands performing each night for festival goers to show off their new dance moves.

DockDogs® Championships
Families and their pups can jump for joy as the DockDogs® Championships, presented by Toronto Port Authority, returns to Sherbourne Common. See dogs jump, dive, soar and splash for top scores throughout the weekend. New for 2015 is a Pet Fest Marketplace with pet vendors and food.

Wine & Spirits Fest
RWF is excited to partner with the Toronto Wine & Spirit Festival for a second year at Sugar Beach. Experience wine samples, craft beers, pairing seminars and some of the world’s finest spirits. Sun, sand, live music and an incredible waterfront view makes it the best place to kick off the summer.

RWF Shuttle
An RWF Shuttle, courtesy of RBC, will be introduced in 2015 to help navigate the 2km stretch of the festival. This free shuttle will stop along Queens Quay Boulevard and provide visitors with easy access to all parks and programming.

General admission to the festival is free. For a recap of last year’s events, visit www.towaterfrontfest.com and check back for updates on this year’s celebration.

Major festival partners include Redpath Sugar, The Waterfront BIA, Waterfront Toronto, RBC, Toronto Port Authority, and Purina PawsWay.

The Redpath Waterfront Festival, in partnership with The Waterfront BIA, is an annual summer event that provides on-land and on-water programming for people of all ages and interests with the goal of promoting Toronto locally, nationally and internationally as a premiere waterfront destination.
