is dedicated to improving academic skills and introducing youth to a range
of natural environments and wilderness experiences to build the confidence
they need to envision and accomplish goals, succeed in high school, attend
college and become engaged, empowered citizens.
“We’re thrilled to receive this $2,500 donation from ResorTime. The funds will go toward our many outdoor and academic programs, including college prep and individualized mentoring, weekend trips to Yosemite National Park and Big Sur, and immersive summer courses that incorporate activities like kayaking and rock climbing,” explains Sarah Ottley, Executive Director of Adventure Risk Challenge. “It’s always exciting to see our youth participants grow and evolve into leaders through these experiences, and it is contributions like this that help make it possible.” The organization also operates in areas of Lake Tahoe where flagship partner property Red Wolf Lodge at Squaw Valley is located. General Manager, Nick Batliner, inspired by ARC’s approach of helping students, encouraged the charity to submit an entry to ResorTime’s giving contest, beCause Destination Matters. Batliner awarded the charity the $2,500 check on the 17th of July, 2017. “It means so much to work for an organization that supports the causes that matter to the communities I work and live in,” explains Batliner. “I love what Adventure Risk Challenge is doing by integrating wilderness experiences with mentoring and leadership development. It’s been such a pleasure seeing the impact it’s had on the students who participate.” ResorTime’s giving program is proud to make an impact to four causes every year. If there is a 501(c)(3) you’re passionate about, go to beCause Destination Matters to submit your inspiring story for a chance to win your favorite cause a $2,500 donation. About
