Sheetz For The Kidz Raises a
Record-Setting $618,000 in December 2017
|
Donations helped make the holiday season brighter
for thousands of children and families
|
Altoona, PA – January 2018 / Newsmaker Alert / Sheetz For The Kidz™ is proud to announce the charity raised more than $618,000 during its annual December campaign through customer donations. This is a record for the Sheetz employee-driven charity and exceeds last year’s campaign fundraising total by more than $34,000. Each year, 100 percent of customer donations are used to directly support Sheetz For The Kidz programs.

Sheetz For The Kidz“We cannot thank our customers and employees enough for their loyal support and the continued generosity they show to Sheetz For The Kidz,” said Sarah Piper, Executive Director of Sheetz For The Kidz. “This fundraising initiative allowed us to brighten the holidays for families who needed it most.”

Throughout the 2017 holiday season, Sheetz For The Kidz supported approximately 9,300 children – amounting to 16 children from each of Sheetz’s 564 stores. Sheetz For The Kidz worked with the Salvation Army to receive wish lists from local families in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina. Sheetz employees then volunteered their time to shop, wrap and host holiday parties for the children and their families. At the holiday parties, Santa greeted the children and presented them with new toys, clothes and basic necessities purchased specifically for them.

There are many ways customers can support Sheetz For The Kidz throughout the year:

  • Purchase Sheetz For The Kidz water – 25 cents of every bottle sold goes to support the charity.
  • Shop on AmazonSmile and select “Sheetz For The Kidz” as the charity of your choice.Amazon will donate a portion of your purchases to Sheetz For The Kidz.
  • Go to www.SheetzForTheKidz.org to donate online today.
  • In the months of July and December, Sheetz offers customers an opportunity to donate at the register.
This also marks the 13th consecutive year of Sheetz For The Kidz partnering with Make-A-Wish to grant wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. The charity sponsors one child per Sheetz operating district, totaling 55 children this year.
