County Tourism is accepting nominees through November 30 for its annual
Salute
to Tourism awards. The awards honor individuals and organizations throughout
Somerset County, N.J. in four categories: Economic Champion, Service Excellence
and Tourism Champion plus a new category added this year, Outstanding Event.

 The
Sixth Annual Salute to Tourism Awards Program will be held on Friday, January
18, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Bridgewater Marriott, 700
Commons Way in Bridgewater, N.J. It will include the awards presentation,
luncheon and featured speaker—economist, city planner and placemaker Steven
Pedigo.
The
awards selection committee comprises members of the current Somerset County
Tourism Council Executive Committee, who will review all nominations to
select the most compelling entries for:

Economic
Champion: An individual or organization that has made a significant
and direct impact on the Somerset County economy through greater visitor
spend, job creation, or increased tax revenues. Indirect impacts will also
be considered.

Service
Excellence: A Somerset County tourism professional who has demonstrated
outstanding customer service, going above and beyond expectations to enhance
a customer’s experience at a county tourism asset.

Tourism
Champion: An individual or organization that has promoted Somerset
County’s attributes and resources to help establish the destination brand
and draw more visitors. The person enhances community pride and promotes
and understanding of the long-term sustainability of the county’s tourism
industry.

Outstanding
Event: An event that exemplifies tourism industry best practices, supports
the Visit Somerset County brand, and demonstrates overall success in a
positive economic and community-focused environment.
Nominations
for the Sixth Salute to Tourism Awards must be submitted online at VisitSomersetNJ.org/2019-salute-to-tourism-awards-program
by the November 30th deadline. The website also has full information about
the awards. Registration to attend is now open.
