| Surf & Turf Experience Tournament Benefits Disabled Veterans Insurance Careers | The second annual three-day, two-night sportsman's weekend had 12 teams of three competing in fishing and golfing components. Teams fished with licensed charter captains from South Seas Island Resort marina and then played 18 holes of golf at South Seas Island Resort overlooking Redfish Pass. First place overall champions were Gary Trippe, Dave Reading and Carl Fazio; second place included John Pollock, Brian Lucas and Ed Castner; and the third place team included Michael Spreckelmeier, Dave Wherry and Jason Evers. Former U.S. Air Force F-4 Phantom jet fighter pilot and Vietnam prisoner of war, Wayne O. Smith was the keynote speaker. Smith serves as a DVIC board member.
