The Cove Earns Four-Star Rating from Forbes Travel Guide
New York State Must Return $2.5 Million in Federal Aid for Acquisition of Iconic Follensby Pond Tract Due to Lack of Matching Funds
McCall, ID – December 2014 / Newsmaker Alert / The Cove, an acclaimed full-service luxury spa, has earned a prestigious four-star rating from Forbes Travel Guide, the leader in luxury travel ratings since 1958. Located alongside the iconic Shore Lodge resort in McCall, Idaho, The Cove joins Forbes’ exclusive list of star rating winners worldwide.
.
The Cove, an authentic McCall spa, offers indoor immersion pools where guests can escape the elements and relax in a calming environment.

The concept of creating an authentic representation of Idaho luxury gave birth to The Cove in 2011. “Our sole aim was to create a spa that immersed you in the spirit of Idaho and all that McCall has to offer,” states Dan Scott, President and General Manager. “We knew that the majority of luxury spas offered ‘Zen-like’ experiences and a more traditional spa approach, but to be frank, that was not going to be right for us. That’s not who we are. We set out to create a spa that no one had ever experienced before. The traditions of McCall and the spirit of adventure are woven into our DNA and served as the elements of inspiration for this project. Taking a non-traditional approach to developing a spa and staying true to this new brand concept was not an easy path but we were confident that it would be remarkable.”

Spa Director Leah Gower adds, “and here we are, just three years later, and we are one of the (if not the only) four-star spas in the state. We’re surrounded by world-renowned resorts like Sun Valley and Coeur d’Alene, and for The Cove to receive the recognition and four-star rating from Forbes Travel Guide is incredibly rewarding. We are proud that this pure representation of Idaho Luxury is there for everyone to experience.”

The Cove offers guests from around the world a chance to experience an authentic Idaho luxury spa, sans pretentiousness. Upon entering the spa, guests are immediately enveloped in a cavernous lobby crafted from more than 60 floor-to-ceiling Douglas Fir logs. As they venture deeper into the spa they experience new adventures around every corner, literally. Corridors wrapped in luxurious Pacific Northwest antique oak, treatment rooms that lull with custom wall coverings and luxurious linens, and a pair of saltwater immersion pools (indoor and outdoor) that woo and charm with over 30 tons of authentic McCall granite boulders. Make no mistake, this is a spa unlike any other.

The four-star rating, which is among the most sought-after accolades in the hospitality industry, recognizes The Cove as a distinguished spa that offers consistently high standards of service and a refined guest experience in an inviting and serene environment. For more than 50 years the Forbes team of professional inspectors have traveled the globe evaluating the world’s best hotels, restaurants and spas against a rigorous set of more than 500 criteria.
