‘Reimagined’ Timber Cove on Stunning Sonoma Coast
Reopening in Summer 2016 After Extensive Renovation

Jenner, CA – April 2016 / Newsmaker Alert / Timber Cove, a reinvention and rejuvenation of the historic Timber Cove Inn, will begin welcoming guests to the Sonoma Coast in summer 2016.

Located high above the coastline between the towns of Jenner/Bodega Bay and Sea Ranch, Timber Cove is ideally located close to the famed Northern California wine country, as well as various points of interest along the coast.

The resort's own 25-acre property, featuring unrivaled landscapes, is a powerful draw itself —as are the completely remodeled facilities, which promise an opportunity for guests to connect with themselves and nature in a casual yet elegant and playful setting.

“We wanted to preserve the character of this historic property while creating an updated space for guests where they can unwind to the sound of the wind and ocean waves, savor our local wine and fares and explore the nature trails and cliffs on our property,” said Michael Barry, Owner, Ironwave Hospitality LLC, and Jens von Gierke, Co-Owner and Operator of the hotel. “The new Timber Cove bridges the original 60's vibe and soul with a coastal contemporary update that has made the local northern California art and design scene renowned, from Ansel Adams photography to the famous Bufano 93-foot obelisk that sits at our doorstep.”

Timber Cove General Manager Reto Torriani agreed. “This is one of the best natural settings in the world — it's the perfect place to grow closer to others and to nature. And everything we provide, from amenities and activities to our excellent but unobtrusive service, allows our guests to focus only on what's most important to them.”

Design
The new Timber Cove was reimagined by the world-renown San Francisco based architectural firm Gensler, along with celebrated Los Angeles based design firm Novogratz, to create a contemporary lodge experience that still evokes the historic hotel's 1960s architecture and soul. The designers sought to blend the surrounding landscape and local artwork throughout the interior, with heavy use of redwood and stone from the original design. Modern and retro mid-century furnishings combine to make the aesthetic both visually interesting and comfortably familiar.

Guest Rooms
A total of 46 guest rooms, including eight newly constructed suites, feature bright and open interiors with strong wood accents and breathtaking ocean or forest views||and an overall playful soul. Amenities include a blend of comfort items and tech necessities, such as handcrafted beds, fireplaces in nearly every room, down duvets, HDTVs, complimentary Wi-Fi, record players with vinyl, local wines and other delights.

Activities
Guests can follow their own schedules or participate in Timber Cove's curated daily activities, such as guided hikes, wine tasting, fireside music and wellness experiences. Other recreation opportunities will include archery, billiards, yoga, meditation, stand-up paddleboards, local beach access and more. The resort also features a fitness center and various hiking trails on and around the property.

Food and Drink
Timber Cove's oceanfront restaurant, Coast Kitchen, will provide guests with yet another way to connect with the natural areas surrounding the resort — through seasonal cuisine crafted from locally sourced ingredients. Led by Executive Chef Phillip Kaufman, the Coast Kitchen menu pairs seafood-centric dishes with local boutique wines, and aims to build on the region's legacy of culinary excellence.

“The incredible landscape here produces world-class ingredients in addition to amazing views,” Kaufman said. “The experience at Coast Kitchen will help our guests maintain — and even enhance — the feelings of connection and rejuvenation they create during their time at Timber Cove.”

For guests who seek an experience even more relaxed than the casual elegance at Coast Kitchen, the attractive indoor/outdoor setting and lighthearted vibe of the Great Room make it the perfect fit. With a wide variety of libations, including local wines by the glass or in flights, and an expertly curated reserve of bottles, there's an option for everyone.

Meeting and Event Space
Corporate retreats, small meetings, weddings or even complete resort buy outs are welcome at Timber Cove — and the setting is sure to impress and inspire attendees. The property can accommodate up to 120 guests with meeting rooms ranging to 1,500 square feet, as well as two decks and an events lawn with expansive views for concerts, private dinners and more.

The Timber Cove service team, including the resort's Executive Chef and a dedicated catering staff, will ensure any event is both intimate and awe-inspiring.

“We're honored to bring Timber Cove to life again,” said Barry. “We consider ourselves caretakers of this historic property, and it's a responsibility we don't take lightly. Our hope is that everyone we serve will feel the same as we do — that this is truly a special place.”
