| Timeshare Title Web Services Provider, Timeshare Pro Plus, Receives Patent | “Our patent protects us from having others steal and possibly misuse our technology,” says Co-Owner and President Dave Heine. “It took us four years to develop the system in order to obtain a highly accurate and efficient set of modules. Resort operators can use the software to process title transfers using our title company, CloseMyTimeshare (CloseMyTimeshare.com), or they may use a different title company.” Heine explains they have built in security so that when resort operators or owners and buyers want to use the system, there are a number of safeguards to provide fraud protection, such as verifying addresses with the post office. “We custom brand our software application for our resort clients,” says Heine. “We’ve completely automated the process so that what used to take months when generating documents now takes less than an hour.” During the patenting process, Timeshare Pro Plus was able to submit declarations showing there was nothing like this software in the market. The company’s principals met with and were interviewed by the patent examiner with the entire process taking approximately a year. “Unlike the residential title insurance market, where you have SoftPro and Closers’ Choice, there is no Internet solution designed specifically for the timeshare market,” Heine said. “A lot of resorts are older and don’t have the cash-on-hand to automate, so they use paper forms. Plus, these forms are very difficult to understand if you’re not an expert or an attorney. I’m particularly pleased to be able to assist these HOAs and managers in simplifying the entire process.” The company also holds 15 trademarks and is in the process of obtaining a second patent.
