Back To News/PR Index | | Topgolf Expanding to El Paso, Texas | The Topgolf games can be enjoyed by all ages and skill levels, and the microchipped golf balls score themselves, providing players with instant feedback on each shot’s accuracy and distance. Each venue features climate-controlled hitting bays for year-round play, a chef-driven food and beverage menu, music and hundreds of HDTVs. “El Paso is a vibrant and fast-growing city that is ideal for Topgolf. The concept has been very well-received in other markets across the state, so we are excited to expand our Texas footprint while also having the opportunity to access the population in Mexico,” said Topgolf Director of Real Estate Development Devin Charhon. “The city has been fantastic to work with, and we are grateful for all of the enthusiasm and support shown by the entire community - we can’t wait to become a part of it.” The new three-level venue will include up to 3,000 square feet of private event space and 102 climate-controlled hitting bays that can host up to six players at one time. Charhon estimates that Topgolf El Paso will serve approximately 450,000 visitors in its first year of operation. Nearly half of all Topgolf guests describe themselves as “non-golfers.” “As Mayor of El Paso, I am proud to welcome Topgolf to our community. Their expansion efforts will bolster new economic development opportunities that will strengthen our economic climate,” said El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser. “Today’s announcement is another example of how El Paso is open for business and how the City Council is committed to improving our quality of life amenities.” Topgolf’s economic impact in its local communities is remarkable, creating 500 full- and part-time jobs at each location and serving as an anchor tenant that tends to attract other popular franchises to the area. In fact, its economic output in El Paso alone is expected to exceed $264.5 million over a 10-year-period, according to a third-party audit. “After a two-year effort, we are ecstatic that El Paso will be home to an economic game changer like Topgolf,” said El Paso City Manager Tommy Gonzalez. “The entertainment venue will not only improve our overall quality as a city, but it will also be a catalyst for growth. We view this expansion as an economic development milestone that will bring great opportunities to both the City of El Paso and the Topgolf brand.” Residents can track Topgolf’s progress in El Paso at Facebook.com/topgolfelpaso and @Topgolf on Twitter and Instagram.
