in 2015, Travel South USA
announces that registration for its annual Travel
South Domestic Showcase in Shreveport-Bossier, Louisiana, is now open
for all delegates. Early registration for tour operators has gone exceedingly
well, netting fifty (50) operators over six months in advance of the show.
Exciting news this year: Missouri has joined the 11 other Southern states
that comprise Travel South USA, bringing new destinations to the table
for buyers to get to know.

A
staple in the Southern tourism scene since the 1980s, Travel South Showcase
brings together qualified tour operators, Southern tourism entities, and
nationally recognized travel media for three days of appointments, networking,
and fun. Travel South Showcase is the only regional, appointment-style
marketplace focused solely on the cultural, musical, artistic, and culinary
heritage of the South.

couldn’t be more thrilled than we are to host Showcase as part of Travel
South USA’s 50th Anniversary year,” says Louisiana Office of Tourism Assistant
Secretary Kyle Edmiston. “Showcase is one of the top annual opportunities
southern travel destinations, attractions, festivals, and events have to
meet and make connections with the nation’s top tour operators. We think
the state of Louisiana and Shreveport-Bossier area provide the perfect
backdrop for doing business in the nation’s thriving tourism industry.”
According
to Travel South USA Executive Director Liz Bittner, tour operators, referred
to as buyers, may enjoy exceptional familiarization tours developed by
Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi; journalists may participate in a
statewide tour hitting story highlights from swamp tours to the best of
traditional Louisiana food and music; tourism entity representatives, referred
to as suppliers, can share their destination or product to book group tour
business and glean press, and all delegates may partake in City Tours,
designed to highlight the unique culture and landscape of the Shreveport-Bossier
area.
