Turning Stone Resort’s Golf Courses and Facilities Receive
Prestigious Golfweek Awards and Lauded as Among the Country’s Best
|
Verona, NY – December 2014 / Newsmaker Alert / The world-class golf courses and facilities at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Upstate New York were recognized among the “best of the best” in the nation this month with prestigious awards from top sports publication Golfweek. Three Turning Stone courses, Kaluhyat, Atunyote and Shenendoah, were each listed among Golfweek’s Best Casino Courses for 2015. Atunyote, the Shenendoah Golf Club, and Turning Stone’s Golf SuperStore were all also selected for esteemed 2015 AGM Platinum Awards.

This is the eighth consecutive year that Turning Stone’s Atunyote, Kaluhyat and Shenendoah were all elected to this exclusive list from Golfweek. Courses are rated on ten criteria including routing, conditioning, variety and memorability of holes by The Golfweek Raters panel, which represents more than 700 experienced evaluators. Only 50 courses are chosen from across the country, underscoring Turning Stone’s prominent position as one of the nation’s premier golf destinations.

The 2015 AGM Platinum Awards, received by Atunyote, the Shenendoah Golf Club, and Turning Stone’s all-seasons Golf SuperStore, recognize the “best of the best” in golfing facilities nationwide based on creativity, adaptability, and new ideas. This is the third consecutive AGM award for the Shenendoah Golf Club. Turning Stone’s winners will be recognized and feted on the main stage at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando in late January.

In addition to offering guests pro-level play amid spectacular views and picturesque settings, Turning Stone’s courses have held a number of professional golf events in recent years including the PGA Tour, the PGA Professional National Championship, B.C. Open and the Turning Stone Resort Championship. The resort has also been host to some of the sport’s biggest names including Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler.

Each year, Turning Stone’s Atunyote Golf Course also hosts the annual Notah Begay III Foundation Challenge charity tournament, which Woods won in 2009.

“We are honored and thrilled that Turning Stone’s golf offerings have received these esteemed awards from Golfweek once again,” said CEO of Oneida Nation Enterprises Ray Halbritter. “Our golf pros and facilities staff are dedicated to providing an unparalleled experience for guests both on and off the golf course. These recognitions truly speak to Turning Stone’s commitment to excellence, and we look forward to continuing to attract golfers from across the region, country and entire world.”

A four-season, destination resort, Turning Stone also features vast entertainment options in addition to first-rate golf. Its sprawling 3,400 acre complex welcomes more than 4.5 million guests a year with award-winning hotels and restaurants, world-class amenities, chart-topping entertainment, and a luxury retail outlet and entertainment complex coming soon.
