Games is an action-packed branch of equestrian sport in which fast relay
games like Pony Express, Bang-A-Balloon and Jousting are played on ponies
up to a height of 15 hands (60 inches). People of all ages can play and
teams of four or five riders compete – making this one of the few horse
sports that allow riders to compete with their friends. For 25 years, the
United States Mounted Games Association has provided opportunities for
riders to enjoy games on horseback and to compete in the U.S. as well as
internationally. In addition to the games, the May 3 event will offer prizes
for kids who pick the winning pairs in the under 17 and open divisions.
