Top 10 New Villas in the Caribbean
|
Newport, RI – January 2018 / Newsmaker Alert / The start of the new year marks so many “top lists” – from books, to cultural figures to movies. The list you may be most eager to see though? The top new places to vacation. Leading hospitality company WIMCO Villas unveils its list of the top 10 new villas in the Caribbean – offering vacationers to be among the first to relax in these exceptional private homes, while enjoying WIMCO’s signature concierge service.

What’s Trending
St. Barths and Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos are the two most active destinations for high-end new villa construction. Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and the Riviera Maya coast have also seen a surge in development of upscale properties, many of which are directly on the beach or on golf courses.

How to Choose?
Each year WIMCO Specialists inspect scores of newly constructed villas to determine which ones meet the grade. A small group are designated “best of”, and from that they select the top ten. The wildcard is location as WIMCO seeks to feature villas in multiple islands to showcase the breadth of its portfolio. “This year we introduced more than a dozen exceptional new villas each in several destinations, but in the interest of showcasing different islands, we decided to feature no more than 3 new villas from any one place” stated Stiles Bennet, president of WIMCO.

These new private properties (which are available to rent by the week), set the standard for clean contemporary design, and are thoughtfully laid out to provide a memorable vacation experience. “Vacationing in a private villa often offers families or groups more space, privacy and value than booking a comparable number of hotel rooms does,” says Bennet. “When you include access to our Villa Specialists who work closely with clients to ensure the right fit, then set-up flights and vacation services, this is a winning combination for our clients.”

He adds that one to three bedroom villas are the most sought after, ideal for couples or small groups. “When considering which villas to add to WIMCO’s portfolio each year, we keep an eye out for smaller, well-designed villas that are great for romantic retreats, or small group vacations.” One of these is Villa Javacanou (WV JAV) a three bedroom waterfront villa on Marigot Bay in St Barths. The full list can be seen on WIMCO’s website at Top10Villas2018.

WIMCO also operates a real estate sales office in the Caribbean, and on a related note, Bennet adds, “The fact that we are able to highlight so many exceptional new homes each year is also an indicator of the perceived value of investing in real estate in the Caribbean vs investing in other places or opportunties.”
